Josef Newgarden stormed through the field following a late-race restart, charging past Kyle Kirkwood and pole-sitter David Malukas to capture a dramatic victory in Phoenix.
This race had everything. Early cautions, bold tire strategies, and late-race chaos. The biggest shock came when defending champion Alex Palou was caught up in an incident with Rinus VeeKay, ending his race prematurely and shaking up the championship picture.
One of the standout performers of the night was Christian Rasmussen. He led the most laps and showcased impressive pace, slicing through the field and making passes at will.
Moment of the Race
With fewer than 50 laps remaining, Rasmussen was chasing leader Will Power when the two made contact exiting Turn 2. Rasmussen was sent into the wall, while Power suffered a cut tire, bringing out a caution. The damage proved too severe for both drivers to recover, as they fell out of contention and ultimately finished 14th (Rasmussen) and 18th (Power).
