Tyler Reddick enters Talladega with a 105-point lead over Denny Hamlin following his fifth win of the season. Now, the Cup Series heads to one of its most unpredictable tracks.
Much of the conversation this weekend centers around NASCAR’s new stage lengths, designed to limit fuel saving. Stage 1 has been extended to 98 laps, while Stages 2 and 3 will each be 45 laps.
Superspeedways are known for producing surprise winners, and Talladega is no exception. In fact, the last 11 races at the track have all had different winners. That trend has led some fans to believe Reddick’s dominant run could be slowed.
However, Reddick was the top points scorer on superspeedways last season, proving he can still contend when chaos strikes.
Cup Series Weekend Schedule
Saturday: Qualifying – 10:30 AM ET
Sunday: Race – 3:00 PM ET
